Love Blue Ox weight distribution hitches! The fact that you can order different spring bar capacities without changing the hitch is awesome. Not to mention the hitch itself is the best of all my hitches owned. Quiet and steady as a rock!

I had originally purchased my Blue Ox Sway Pro and Weight Distribution hitch for a smaller travel trailer that we had purchased. when we up graded to a larger trailer I had no need to purchase another hitch, all i had to do was up grade to the heavier sway bars.
The purchase was quick, easy, and I received the bars in the mail quickly.
I am very please with the Blue Ox Sway Pro as it is a quick and simple product to install and use. Hitching and unhitching is a breeze. I am also pleased with with the service I received from etrailer.com.

Recently purchased a new TT and needed to upgrade the spring bars on my Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System for the added tongue weight. New spring bars arrived on time and packaged well. I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but have no doubt that they will perform as advertised.

Product received in good working order with excellent ship time and notifications. etrailer always excellent on customer service in our experience. We plan to continue to use them as our first source of trailer parts and supplies!

We are glad we upgraded two levels heavier than the literature suggested. The original spring bars are entirely too light and allow too much sway in slight cross winds. I totally agree with other reviewers that state to go with heavier bars than the recommended rating.

by:

Brand new weight distribution bars came fast at a great price! I needed 4-dot bars but the trailer came with 3-dot. Using etrailer was an elect choice.

Have been using for a Blue Ox sway weight distribution system for several years and new trailer had heavy tongue weight. And these new bars have been working perfectly for several months. Recommend this system to all.

it working out just fine. just make sure sure you have the right bars for your tongue wt. and your chains are set right.

by:

There were a couple of places I could've bought these replacement bars for my Blueox WDH from but I chose etrailer. They are always precise and have the most information on products.

by:

Blue ox should be removed from the market. What a useless and expensive device. I put on the equalizer after having horrible sway problems with blue ox. And it is almost half price. I can't notice any sway with the equalizer. Blue ox was white knuckle driving, especially when semis passed me. If you have a RV trailer, DO NOT BUY BLUE OX!!!

by:

This product is for an upgrade to my Blue Ox weight distribution system. It is exactly as expected. The package shipped in the manufacturer’s original packing, on time, and in perfect condition. The price for the item and cost of shipping was good. I plan on purchasing from Etrailer.com in the future.

by:

I ordered the item on 5/9/21 and received it on 5/21/21. I did get exactly what I ordered and it was packaged really well. My only issue was the amount of time that it took to receive it. I have ordered from etrailer before and the shipping was good and prompt but I have no idea why this has taken so long especially for an item they said they had in stock.

by:

Purchased a new travel trailer and needed heavier spring bars for my blue ox hitch. They were shipped same day and received two days later.
I have ordered several items in the past few years from e trailer. Staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Extremely satisfied with them.

by:

Had great experience with the Blue Ox hitch set but discovered our hitch weight was more than the 1000# bars we had been using so these heavier bars do the trick!

by:

Jena D, thanks for the fast, courteous order, help and shipping. Product works great. Tongue weight was over my 1000lbs bars and needed the 1500lbs bars before trip. Bars arrived two days before I was leaving. Blue Ox SwayPro Bar System exceeded my expectations and the ride and handling is very smooth now.

by:

The replacement bars were an exact match for my Blue Ox towing hitch. Fast service and friendly/helpful service.

by:

37' camper and it pulls wonderful with these bars forcing it to stay stay in line! The blue ox system is the best! Many years of pulling large trailers and these are simple to use...backing and turning is a breeze!

by:

I just received my Blue Ox Sway Pro 1,500 lb. replacement bars via UPS. This is my first order with etrailer and I am very pleased. Free shipping and great price! I will be doing business with them again.

by:

These do exactly what they're supposed to do when attached to a Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distributing Hitch.

I'm very happy with everything I've bought from eTrailer and Blue Ox. Blue Ox support is also very hellpful and patient. I've contacted them both by phone and email and they were very resposive.

Blue Ox is a great product! Fantastic sway bars that does a great job controlling my 35ft RV from swaying. Ordered over the phone. Staff very helpful! Received product in 2 days!

by:

I 'm moving to a larger camper and needed to upgrade my spring bars. Etrailers website helped me decide what size to get, my tongue weight empty is 880 lbs. I followed their advice and went with heavier bars since adding stuff to camper and truck I would be over 1000 lbs.

  • How To Determine Blue Ox Spring Bar Weight Capacity
Blue Ox has an easy system for determining the weight capacity of your spring bars, whereas other companies may use measurements or printed capacity to assist. With Blue Ox, there is a 5 dimple system: No dimples means it is rated for up to 350 lbs total tongue weight. One dimple means it is rated for up to 550 lbs. Two dimples indicates up to 750 lbs. Three dimples indicates up to 1,000 lbs. Four dimples indicates up to 1,500 lbs tongue weight. Five dimples indicates up to 2,000 lbs...

  • Are Long or Short Torsion Arms Better for a Weight Distribution System
The reason long bars on weight distribution (WD) systems, like the Strait-Line # RP66074, are so popular is because that means the clamps for the trailer frame will sit about 30" away from the coupler. Typically this avoids items that sit on the tongue, like propane tanks. Short arms are a great substitute for when things like propane tanks get in the way. There really is no advantage or disadvantage of using long or short arms other than the location of other things on the tongue of your...

  • Will Changing To Heavier Spring Bars On Blue Ox Sway Pro Require Adjusting Hitch?
The operation for the Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW1000 is going to be the same even with using the larger 1,500lb Bars # BXW4008. With that said if this is a different trailer than the one you previously used the spring bars for the trailer itself may be different heights so you may need a different chain link to get the proper amount of spring tension on the bars. Personally I always recommend installing the hitch like it is a new trailer when changing parts on the hitch. This will allow you...

Technically, as long as the system will fit the trailers (have a frame height between 3" and 6"), even if they are much lighter you can use the SwayPro system you asked about with a 2,000 lb tongue weight rating: - Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Clamp On - Underslung - 20K GTW, 2K TW # BXW2003 The issue though, is that with a system rated so much higher than needed, the ride will be very stiff and rigid, and the trailer will bounce a lot to the point that it would...

Assuming you currently have a Blue Ox SwayPro system such as part # BXW0750, you can indeed swap out your existing spring bars and replace them with the # BXW4007 1000 lb capacity spring bars. You'll retain your existing trunnions, and will simply remove the retaining clip that holds your existing bars in the trunnions, slide them out and replace them with the higher-rated spring bars. To make your current system compatible with an underslung system all you have to do is swap out the head to the underslung option using part # BXW4012.
